TIPI LINERS, DOORS, OZANS, FLOORS and Canopies
Liners.
The addition of the liner transforms a pointed tent into a tipi, which can be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The liner (dew cloth) is tied to the inside of the pole structure. This provides a sandwich of air between the liner and the tipi cover that acts as a blanket of insulation.

Doors.
Made of the same high quality fabric as the tipi, the door has three dowels (3/4 inch in diameter) sewn into horizontal pockets. Each dowel is sanded and linseed-oiled and the ends are rounded. The extra center dowel keeps the center of the door from collapsing into the entrance opening and gives much better wind and storm protection.

Ozans.
The Sioux "ozan" is an awning-like cover that extends from the top of the liner over the sleeping area and acts as an inside rain cover and warmth trap. It is as useful during extended rain storms where a few drops always sneak past the closed smoke flaps as it is for the sudden summer thunderstorm where you have little warning to get the smoke flaps closed.

Floors.
In our 28 years of building tipis, we have seen and used many types of tipi flooring.
For the mobile tipi, our acrylic coated tipi floors are ideal. These floors made of high-quality, flame and mildew resistant vinyl coated polyester/cotton fabric. These floors have the look of treated canvas and are often used when the floor must look like it's made from 'period' material. These floors hold up much better than plain canvas floors and are about the same cost.
